Hiring Range: $21.61 - $24.31 hourly
Full Pay Range: $21.61 - $32.42 hourly
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm
3-day weekends Friday - Sunday

Position Overview:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work. Operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City water, wastewater, streets, and the City's drainage system. Pours, spreads, and levels concrete; sets forms, ties steel, wrecks form, backfills, lays sod, uses various finishing tools, etc. Work is performed with moderate supervision. This position works on Capital Improvement Projects funded with bond proceeds.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from High School or GED and three (3) years of general maintenance experience relating to construction, maintenance, and repair of streets and drainage, as well as at least one year of experience in a skilled labor field such as asphalt paving, concrete forming, setup, and finishing. A valid Class "C" driver's license is required. A valid Commercial Class "A" Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement is preferred, or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment is required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to the departmental Director or the designee within two working days of receipt.
Must reside within a 1-hour response time from the Public Works Building; employees will have (6) months from the employment date in which to relocate. Must be able to work holidays and weekends as needed.
