Job summary

Duininck is seeking a Concrete Finisher for seasonal, full-time work in Lubbock, Texas. You will place forms, pour, smooth, and finish concrete for infrastructure projects, with overtime based on experience and competitive hourly pay. Travel throughout Texas may be required.

You’ll work outdoors in all weather, adhere to safety regulations, wear PPE, and contribute to quality and on-site efficiency. A strong benefits package includes health plans, PTO, and retirement options.

Responsibilities

• Place forms to hold concrete with correct depth and pitch.
• Pour, smooth, and level concrete using manual tools.
• Apply sealing and hardening components.
• Construct expansion joints with joiners and edging tools.
• Monitor curing conditions affected by heat, wind and cold.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety at the jobsite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Placing forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is achieved.
• Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed.
• Applying sealing and hardening components.
• Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Monitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results.
• Removing edges on expansion joints and sides.
• Compacting materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases.
• Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms.
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.
• Performs necessary daily inspection and or maintenance of equipment used.
• Keeps equipment clean and in working order and prepares equipment for transport when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
