Penhall Company, a leader in concrete cutting, coring and demolition, seeks a Concrete Cutting Trainee to support experienced operators while gaining hands-on training in core drilling, sawing, and removal.

This entry-level role offers growth opportunities and requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will work on various job sites and follow strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with clean record.
• Experience in labor roles, preferably construction or demolition.
• Familiarity with wall saws, core drills, flat saws, hand/ring saws, and compressor tools such as jackhammers preferred.
• Experience with construction equipment like bobcats/backhoes is highly desired.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation.
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and ability to work in challenging conditions (rain/cold/heat).
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs and stay mobile during tasks.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and reliability; professional conduct at all times.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines; punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting, sawing, lifting, and core drilling under supervision.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment incl. diamond blades, flat saws, core drills, wall saws, jackhammers.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, ensure security and cleanliness.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe site.
• Support setup and breakdown of job sites, organize equipment, and ensure readiness.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors for project success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
