Job summary

Penhall Company in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Concrete Cutting Trainee to support experienced operators while gaining hands-on training in core drilling, concrete sawing, cutting and removal. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in the skilled trades and offers training and growth opportunities.

You will assist with cutting and sawing, operate and maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with team members to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record.
• Previous work experience in labor roles, preferably in construction or demolition.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and work in varying weather conditions.
• Selected candidates must pass post-offer drug/alcohol screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting, sawing, lifting, and core drilling under supervision.
• Operate and maintain company equipment including diamond blades, saws, drills, and jackhammers.
• Ensure regular inspection and cleanliness of equipment; follow safety protocols.
• Support setup and breakdown of job sites; coordinate with team for readiness.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
