Job summary

Penhall Company is seeking a Concrete Cutting Trainee to support experienced operators in core drilling, sawing, cutting, and concrete removal. This entry-level role provides hands-on training and growth opportunities for individuals willing to learn and advance in the skilled trades.

You will work on project sites, follow safety protocols, and gain exposure to a range of concrete services as you develop core skills under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record.
• Previous work experience in labor roles, preferably in construction/demolition.
• Familiarity with wall saws, core drills, flat saws, hand saws, ring saws, or compressor tools is preferred.
• Experience with construction equipment like bobcats/backhoes is highly desired.
• Solid mechanical aptitude with ability to learn equipment operation and maintenance.
• Self-motivation and reliability in challenging conditions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting, sawing, lifting, and core drilling under supervision.
• Operate and maintain company equipment (diamond blades, saws, drills, wall saws, jackhammers).
• Ensure regular inspection and maintenance of equipment; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Support setup and breakdown of job sites with proper equipment organization.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors for project success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
