Job summary

Canyon Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Concrete Construction Superintendent to join our Operations team. You will manage day-to-day field operations on concrete projects, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to Canyon's quality standards.

This hands-on leadership role works closely with the General Superintendent, Project Manager, Foremen, customers, vendors, and other trades to plan, coordinate, and supervise work, review drawings, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of concrete construction experience.
• Experience as a Superintendent on concrete projects.
• Experience managing 7+ employees.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Proven safety and quality focus.
• Experience coordinating with multiple trades and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily concrete construction activities and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Plan and maintain project schedules with the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Coordinate daily work with Foremen and adjust plans for weather, deliveries, and site conditions.
• Review drawings, plans, specs, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Review survey data and identify potential problems before they affect the project.
• Prepare daily jobsite reports and maintain project documentation.
• Develop and present two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate concrete, stone, slab packages, and other material orders.
• Lead safety toolbox talks and maintain a focus on jobsite safety.
• Attend meetings and coordinate work with other trades.

Canyon Contracting, Inc. is looking for an experienced Concrete Construction Superintendent to join our Operations team.

The Superintendent is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations on concrete construction projects and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to Canyon's quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position working closely with the General Superintendent, Project Manager, Foremen, customers, vendors, and other trades.

What You'll Do

• Manage daily concrete construction activities and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Work with the General Superintendent and Project Manager to plan and maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate daily work with Foremen and adjust plans as needed for weather, deliveries, manpower, and changing jobsite conditions.
• Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, project scope, schedules, RFIs, ASIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Review survey and jobsite layout and identify potential problems before they affect the project.
• Prepare daily jobsite reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Develop and present two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate concrete, stone, slab packages, and other material orders.
• Conduct daily huddles, including stretch and flex, hazard analysis, work assignments, and equipment inspections.
• Lead weekly safety toolbox talks and maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety.
• Maintain quality standards and complete pre-pour checklists.
• Attend Foreman and production meetings and coordinate work with other trades.
• Resolve jobsite issues involving materials, employees, scheduling, and project progress.
• Address conflicts and communication issues quickly and professionally.
• Build strong working relationships with customers and project partners.
• Help identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow Canyon's business.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in concrete construction
• 5+ years experience as a Superintendent working in concrete construction
• Previous experience managing 7 or more employees on a jobsite
• Strong understanding of concrete construction operations
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and blueprints
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• CPR certification preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
