Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

A Foreman will oversee and lead one specific concrete project at a time and manage a crew of 3-10 field employees. The Foreman must always ensure a safe and efficient workplace. This position is responsible for the coordination of tasks for their employees according to current project needs, produce schedules for team members, and supervise the use of machinery. As the liaison between employees and Job Superintendent, the Foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses and employee safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate with Field Superintendent and/or Project Manager to schedule job tasks and equipment.
  2. Coordinate daily tasks and schedules according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel.
  3. Continually provide updates to the Job Site Superintendent and Canyon Management on project status and communicate any needs at the job site.
  4. Must review and comprehend project scope of work, submittals, and continually review all drawings including all RFIs/ASIs and shop drawings, i.e; Rebar, Elevator and Embeds.
  5. Required to write and submit at the jobsite a Daily Report summarizing the day’s activities.
  6. Responsible to place concrete and material orders through Canyon website for assigned job as necessary.
  7. Develop and present a two week look ahead for the project at the weekly internal scheduling meeting.
  8. Required to hold weekly safety toolbox talks with emphasis on worksite safety and safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
  9. Ensure that daily huddles are held each day to include stretch and flex, hazard analysis, and the daily work assignments.
  10. Develop and oversee quality standards on the job site.
  11. Resolve problems with projects, materials, and employees as they arise.
  12. Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably.
  13. Build and develop trusting relationships with current customers and seek to identify opportunities to grow our customer base and build positive relationships.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  1. 5+ years' experience in the concrete construction industry.
  2. Prior experience managing 5 or more employees on a job site.
  3. Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities.
  7. OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  8. CPR required.

Must be able to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. Position will require that employee have manual dexterity, good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
