Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Officer to deliver professional customer-focused security and life safety services at assigned sites. You will greet visitors, monitor entrances, and patrol to deter threats while upholding client policies and procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and reliable transport. Strong communication, neat appearance, and basic incident reporting are essential, with prior security or customer service experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Write routine correspondence, to include log entries and incident reporting.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge security services.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility/building.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests professionally.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within the position limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect property and ensure proper removal of items.
• Follow emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
