Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a Full-Time Support Staff member to provide direct customer service at the Nursing School concierges desk. The role requires welcoming guests, handling inquiries, and performing administrative tasks to support staff and nursing ceremonies.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least three years of customer service experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. This position is on-site in Ohio with standard business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and acknowledges all guests, visitors, students & vendors according to College standards; anticipates and addresses service needs.

  • Checks email and voicemail boxes and responds appropriately.
  • Effectively handles all inbound and outbound phone calls in a pleasant, customer-service oriented manner.
  • Ensures Concierge desk and lobby area appears neat and professional, and is fully stocked with information including College maps, brochures and event literature.
  • Provides administrative support to supervisor.
  • Attends all College meetings as assigned.
  • Serves as the main administrative support to nursing pinning ceremonies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Providesdirect customer service to all guests, visitors, students, faculty, staff andvendors to the Nursing.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a customer service oriented role

  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
  • The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
  • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Target Starting Salary Range: $40,814 to$45,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range, but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).

Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
