Job summary

The Town of Mooresville is seeking a Concession Coordinator to oversee concession facilities, aquatic operations, and special events. You will supervise part-time staff, manage inventories, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and weekly operations of concession facilities and aquatic operations.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise part-time, seasonal, and temporary concession staff.
  • Manage cash handling, deposits, and financial records for concession facilities and aquatic operations.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures and accurate financial records.
  • Conduct weekly concession inventories and prepare year-end inventory reports for the Finance Department.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure concession facilities comply with health department regulations and safety requirements.
  • Assist with managing contracts and permits for third-party vendors operating in Town parks.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

About The Role

The Concession Coordinator performs responsible administrative, operational, and supervisory work overseeing the Town's concession operations, including concessions at aquatic facilities, tournaments, leagues, special events, and Town-wide events. This position is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supervising part-time and seasonal staff, managing inventory and purchasing, overseeing cash handling and deposits, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

Duties and Responsibilites
  • Oversee the daily and weekly operations of concession facilities and aquatic facility concessions, including tournaments, leagues, special events, and Town-wide events
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise part-time, seasonal, and temporary concession staff
  • Manage cash handling, daily and weekly deposits, and financial records for concession facilities and aquatic operations
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed and financial transactions are accurately recorded
  • Conduct weekly concession inventories and prepare year-end inventory reports for the Finance Department
  • Monitor inventory levels and order and receive food, beverages, supplies, and equipment as needed
  • Stock, organize, and prepare concession stands for daily and event operations
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, pricing, and costs to maintain quality products and efficient operations
  • Track cost of goods sold following events and maintain accurate operational records
  • Research food service, athletic, and concession trends and analyze customer feedback to recommend menu offerings
  • Evaluate menu items and pricing annually based on customer preferences, market trends, and cost fluctuations
  • Identify opportunities to improve concession efficiency, customer service, and revenue generation
  • Ensure concession facilities comply with applicable health department regulations, sanitation standards, and safety requirements
  • Apply for and maintain required seasonal and annual health department permits for concession facilities and aquatic operations
  • Monitor health department permits and sanitation ratings to ensure compliance
  • Manage and record credit card purchases for concession and aquatic facility operations
  • Assist with managing contracts and permits for third-party vendors operating in Town parks
  • Assist with developing concession and aquatic facility forecasts and manage assigned resale inventory and operating budget line items
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and concerns and provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist with concession operations and Town-wide events as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in concessions, food service, hospitality, retail, recreation, or a closely related field
  • Experience with inventory management, cash handling, and customer service
  • One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position
Special Requirements
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent within twelve (12) months of employment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification within twelve (12) months of employment
