GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 75 years! Our Beavercreek facility on Research Blvd. manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. Our location on Heller drive manufactures turbine airfoils and has a focus on next generation technology. We have been awarded OSHA’s highest safety rating.

Computerized Machine Operator (CMO) – Role Overview

In this role, you will:

  • Execute all manufacturing work with a rigorous focus on safety, quality, and the critical nature of aircraft parts.
  • Set up, operate, edit, and program a variety of computerized machines (for example, furnaces, lasers, robots, Coherent General 8‑axis equipment, presses, and benders) to meet customer specifications and drawing requirements.
  • Test new tooling and dies, evaluate performance, and recommend modifications to improve quality and throughput.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and verify that tools, gauges, and equipment are accurately calibrated prior to use.
  • Operate machines in accordance with all safety rules, standard work, and documented procedures.
  • Cross‑train to work in all areas of the cell and run other processes as production needs require.
  • Train other team members on standard work and machine operation as needed.
  • Use a computer daily to check email and access/view/download shop drawings, work instructions, and setup/program files.
  • Assist in other areas as needed and directed by People Leader.

  • Use standard measuring tools (manual calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions and prevent defects.
  • Follow written, verbal, and visual instructions to complete work on time and support on‑time delivery.
  • Use tools and materials responsibly, help reduce scrap and rework, and raise issues early to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and delivery.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or technical trades, or equivalent relevant hands‑on work history.
  • Experience using manual calipers to perform precise dimensional inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently and occasionally 20–50 pounds of force (with assistance as needed), with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek; a requirement is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of, or strong willingness and ability to learn, the use of measuring gauges such as manual calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, or interest in learning blueprint reading through on‑the‑job training.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment following written instructions and standard work.
  • Team‑oriented, professional approach to working with peers and leaders.
  • Demonstrated pride in workmanship and commitment to quality.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality record, with availability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to make decisions based on approved work instructions, experience, and available data.
  • Drive to meet or exceed job requirements and performance expectations.
  • Ability to work effectively under general supervision, including performing routine assignments independently.
  • Ability to carry out operations according to set procedures or sequences (standard work).
  • Willingness to receive and act on constructive feedback.
Additional Information
  • Wages: $22.75 – $26.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Additional $1.50/hour premium for 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • Strong safety focus with daily and monthly reviews; site has been awarded OSHA’s highest safety rating.
  • Most protective gear provided, including hearing protection as needed; GE Aerospace provides a $125 voucher for safety shoes and a voucher for prescription safety glasses if needed.
  • Work in and around moving equipment such as stand‑up forklifts, mobile carts, and cranes; normal machining operations may generate dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels).
  • Team‑oriented environment with opportunities to share ideas and make recommendations with peers and leadership.
  • Work may involve standing in one place for extended periods, walking, and climbing stairs; most areas are climate‑controlled.
