Job summary

GE Aerospace Beavercreek Site is hiring an Inspector to perform preliminary, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace components. You will verify dimensional accuracy, read blueprints and FAA data, and ensure airworthiness and on-time delivery.

You will use calipers and micrometers, document results, and maintain traceability across stages. A GED or high school diploma plus 6 months in aerospace/manufacturing is required; FAA repair license is a plus.

Beavercreek Site

GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 75 years! Our Beavercreek facility on Research Blvd. manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. Our location on Heller drive manufactures turbine airfoils and has a focus on next generation technology. We have been awarded OSHAS's highest safety rating.

Role Overview – Inspector

This role is responsible for performing preliminary, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace components in accordance with new engine manuals and FAA-approved technical data. You will play a key role in ensuring airworthiness, quality, and on-time delivery for critical engine components.

• Execute all manufacturing work with a rigorous focus on safety, quality, and the critical nature of aircraft parts.
• Perform preliminary, in-process, and final inspections on engine and component parts.
• Inspect parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and compliance to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• You will heavily utilize a computer to navigate through different programs, blueprints, software, and Microsoft products.
• Use hands and fingers to move parts, use measurement instruments, and manually examine parts.
• Read and interpret OEM manuals, blueprints, and, where applicable, FAA-approved technical data.
• Complete inspection documentation, including Records of Measurement, certifications, and other required quality records.
• Verify traceability and documentation for incoming, in-process, and completed parts to ensure compliance and airworthiness.
• Support production flow by working closely with operations, shipping, and other partners to meet on-time delivery commitments.
• Lift and exert 10-25 pounds of force frequently and 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform other inspection-related duties as required to support safety, quality, and delivery (SQD).
• Cross-train to work in all areas of the cell and run other processes as production needs require.
• Train other team members on standard work and machine operation as needed.
• In designated areas, comply with mandatory or random drug testing requirements.
• Assist in other areas as needed and directed by People Leader.

• Use tools and materials responsibly, help reduce scrap and rework, and raise issues early to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQD).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• At least 6 months of relevant experience in a production, manufacturing, quality, or aerospace environment where safety, precision, and standard work are critical.
• Experience using manual calipers to perform precise dimensional inspections in a manufacturing environment.
• Visual acuity sufficient to accurately read micrometers, manual calipers, and other precision measuring instruments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications (such as Outlook and Word) and navigate work instructions or quality documentation systems.
• This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience accurately reading and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints, OEM/FAA technical data, customer specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing or inspection control plans.
• Prior experience in an aerospace or regulated environment with strong focus on documentation, traceability, and compliance.
• FAA Repairman Certificate/License, or eligibility/interest in obtaining one based on role requirements.
• Team-oriented, professional approach to working with peers and leaders.
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship and commitment to quality.
• Strong attendance and punctuality record, with availability to work overtime as needed.

Additional Information

Wages: $22.75 - $26.00 per hour based on experience. Additional 1.50/hour premium for 2nd or 3rd shift. Repairman License: Inspectors who obtain and actively maintain and use an FAA Repairman License in accordance with the minimum standards established for this role may qualify for an additional $3.50 per hour in compensation. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance). Strong safety focus with daily and monthly reviews; site has been awarded OSHA's highest safety rating. Most protective gear provided, including hearing protection as needed; GE Aerospace provides a $125 voucher for safety shoes and a voucher for prescription safety glasses if needed. Work in and around moving equipment such as standup forklifts, mobile carts, and cranes; normal machining operations may generate dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels). Team-oriented environment with opportunities to share ideas and make recommendations with peers and leadership. Work may involve standing in one place for extended periods, walking, and climbing stairs; most areas are climate-controlled.
