Job summary

GE Aerospace Beavercreek is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain induction furnaces, autoclaves, HVAC, and production equipment. You will read technical manuals, troubleshoot, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance under safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2 years in maintenance, with the ability to work independently or in a team, and willingness to learn. OT may be required and candidate must meet U.S. export regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of maintenance experience in various disciplines.
  • Role may involve high-risk or hazardous operations and shifts; must be at least 18.
  • Preferred: NEC-compliant electrical work knowledge, PLC/HMI experience, reading electrical schematics, and ability to troubleshoot controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and operate handheld measurement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as induction vacuum furnaces, electric furnaces, natural gas kilns, steam autoclaves, leaching autoclaves, robotic shell line operation, mixers, injection machines and cure ovens.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components; troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Study building plans, schematics and drawings to determine work aids and sequence.
  • Support cell moves, rigging efforts and building projects.
  • Order and track material required for repairs; operate material handling equipment (forklifts, scissor, boom, manlifts).
  • Comply with LOTO and other safety regulations.

Job Description Summary Job Description Facilities Maintenance Technician Working at our Beavercreek Site: GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating.

Role Overview:

Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as induction vacuum furnaces, electric furnaces and natural gas kilns, steam autoclaves, leaching autoclaves, robotic shell line operation, mixers, injection machines and cure ovens. Repair and maintain mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment, following technical specifications using hand tools, power tools, or precision measuring instruments. Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and components. Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of plant HVAC, chillers and rooftop units. Study building plans, schematics and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Support cell moves, in-house rigging efforts and building projects. Order and track material required for repairs. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor, boom, manlifts. Comply with LOTO and other safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Two years prior experience in various maintenance disciplines
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NEC Maintenance and/or Electrical Certifications
  • HMI and PLC experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot controllers (Allen Bradley and Rockwell PLC’s)
  • Proficient navigating PC and mobile phone
  • Prior team and leadership experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical control schematics
  • Install or repair electrical service
  • Ability to repair mechanical equipment, especially vacuum systems and automated equipment, etc.
Additional Information:

Ability to work OT as needed and must be available for emergency on call list Maintenance performance is tracked on a daily basis and aggregated in monthly reporting to leadership.
