Computerized Machine Operator

About GE Aerospace
GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication, and investment casting capabilities. We perform product engineering, new product development, testing, repair, and overhaul. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating.

Role Overview

  1. Set up, operate, edit, and program a variety of computerized machines, such as Furnaces, Lasers, Robots, Coherent General (8-Axis), Presses, and Benders to customer specifications and drawings.
  2. Test new tooling or dies and recommend modifications.
  3. Perform regular preventative maintenance and ensure tools are calibrated prior to use.
  4. Operate machines safely and effectively.
  5. Train and collaborate with all areas of the Cell to run other processes as needed.
  6. Use a computer daily for checking email, viewing/downloading shop drawings and instructions.

  • Ability to perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or technical trades, or relevant work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to learn measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Physical ability to exert force (up to 50 pounds with assistance).
  • Stand for up to 8 hours/day.

Additional Information

  • Wages starting at $21.37/hour, based on experience.
  • Additional $1.50 premium pay for second shift.
  • Work around moving machinery, dust, fumes, or smoke within OSHA limits.
  • Activities may include standing, walking, or climbing stairs.
