Manassas Park City Schools seeks a Computer Technician I to provide first-level technical support for students and staff in Manassas Park. You will install, configure, maintain, and repair computer hardware, software, and related technology systems under the Director of Technology.
Responsibilities include responding to service requests, diagnosing issues, and supporting daily operations of instructional technology.
The Computer Technician I provides first-level technical support for students and staff throughout Manassas Park City Schools. Under the direction of the Director of Technology, this position installs, configures, maintains, and repairs computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, and related technology systems. The technician responds to service requests, diagnoses technical issues, assists with network-connected devices, and supports the daily operation of instructional and administrative technology. This position does not supervise other employees.

This position requires frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working under desks or other confined spaces while installing or repairing equipment. Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, cabling, and handling small electronic components is required.
The employee must regularly lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity, color recognition, manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish small electronic components and wiring are necessary. The position also requires prolonged periods of computer use and the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
This position operates in a professional educational environment that includes schools, administrative offices, classrooms, computer labs, libraries, and other instructional spaces. The work requires frequent interaction with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff. Noise levels may range from quiet office settings to active classroom and school environments.
The position requires travel between school buildings and occasional work outside normal business hours to support technology deployments, maintenance, or emergency repairs.
