This position offers Remote Opportunity.

Alutiiq Information Management, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for a Computer Scientist to support our government customer in San Diego, CA. The Computer Scientist/Machine Learningposition will support the development of Computer Vision and Machine Learning solutions for Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) Pacific’s RESTORE Laboratory. The RESTORE is a Navy Laboratory focused research and development to support C5ISR system sustainment and modernization.

  • Develop and maintain computer programs using Python and other programming languages to support computer vision and machine learning projects
  • Research, develop and improve machine learning workflows and applications to support.
  • Utilize neural networks and deep learning for object classification/detection/segmentation, Optical Character Recognition, and text localization
  • Complete data labeling tasks for machine learning models to include file and data format conversions. Clean data to correct noise, errors.
  • Conduct data and statistical analyses to find trends and develop tracking models. Manage data pipelines and model generation.
  • Conduct research, write reports, and create visualizations to support the understanding of algorithms and the presentation of data.

Payrate:$100,000 to $120,000 Annually

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and 3 years applicable work experience
  • A functional knowledge of Python and common libraries (e.g. comfortable with writing functions, classes, loops, etc. and using Anaconda or Python virtual environments)
  • Experience in Computer Vision or Machine Learning and relevant frameworks (e.g. Pytorch and/or TensorFlow)
  • Proven oral/written communication skills and documentation habits
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Familiarity with neural networks and deep learning
  • Experience with object classification/detection/segmentation, Optical Character Recognition, and text localization
  • Experience with LiDAR and point clouds or other 3D work
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with GIT/source control
  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and 3 years applicable work experience
  • A functional knowledge of Python and common libraries (e.g. comfortable with writing functions, classes, loops, etc. and using Anaconda or Python virtual environments)
