Job summary

Brightstar Lottery in Louisville, KY, is hiring a Computer Operator I to monitor, process, and troubleshoot operations in a 24/365 environment. The role supports draw processing, file transfers, and incident handling while meeting SLA requirements.

The ideal candidate has a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, plus 1–2 years in technical support or a call center setting. Proficiency with Linux/Windows and Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical college degree/certificate or comparable experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in related technical support or call center environment preferred.
  • Must be able to monitor and troubleshoot multiple technologies.
  • Able to navigate through Linux and Windows operating systems to perform basic tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Adheres to SLA performance requirements and IT best practices.
  • Participates in professional development activities and career planning.
  • Answers incoming field service calls and assists in managing trouble tickets for technicians.

Responsibilities

The successful Computer Operator I provides basic level monitoring, processing, troubleshooting, support, and escalation for operating equipment in a 24/365 technical environment.

  • Performs basic level troubleshooting of systems and servers related to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools according to established procedures.
  • Accurately executes, validates, and recovers defined processes in the operational checklists to ensure that all draw processing, day-end processing, system balancing, file system maintenance, report/file transfers and deliveries, messaging and jackpot details, system locations/configurations, and internal/external customer requests are completed.
  • Appropriately coordinates, executes, validates, tracks, follows up on, and escalates requests according to established guidelines.
  • Adheres to service level agreements by following established SLA performance requirements.
  • Adheres to IT best practices by following established performance and audit requirements.
  • Participates in individual professional development by completing assigned development plan, participating in mentoring activities, tracking and reporting of development, and communicating career path goals and objectives.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $13.99/hr – $23.80/hr. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
