Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming jobs and provide DFM recommendations to improve quality, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production plans for new and existing parts.
• Generate, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam.
• Collaborate closely with production personnel to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
• Support and troubleshoot CNC programs, machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and equipment issues.
• Conduct and support first-article inspections and quality verification activities.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding solutions, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for optimal production performance.
• Create, document, and maintain standard work procedures and machining best practices.
• Support first-piece production runs and provide technical guidance to operators as needed.
• Work within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment producing a wide variety of parts and components.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support a high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for evaluating new jobs, providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback, developing manufacturing plans, and generating CNC programs for production. The ideal candidate will bring strong Mastercam experience, multi-axis machining expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.

This position is primarily office-based, with approximately 80% of time spent programming and planning and 20% spent on the manufacturing floor supporting first-piece runs, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Mastercam.
• Strong experience programming and supporting multi-axis machining centers, preferably Haas equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Proven ability to determine optimal tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Experience performing quality inspections using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
• Demonstrated success improving processes, reducing costs, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities related to machining processes, equipment, and CNC programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with Amada Fab software and sheet metal CAM programming.
• Experience machining engineered plastics such as polypropylene or Radel.
• Hands-on CNC setup experience.
• Experience designing sheet metal components, including bends, punched features, and formed parts.
• Interest in applying emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions within manufacturing environments.
