Sterling St James LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, test, and optimize CNC milling programs for precision aerospace components. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and rigorous quality control.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC programming experience, strong CAD/CAM proficiency, and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings with GD&T.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree preferred in engineering or manufacturing technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC milling machines.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize CNC programs for milling operations.
  • Program custom components and tooling for production.
  • Develop machining methods and tooling strategies.
  • Set up and support CNC milling machines during production.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate CNC programs on production equipment.
  • Modify programs to reflect engineering changes and product revisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain programming documentation and revision control.
  • Support process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve quality.

Position Summary

The CNC Programmer will develop, test, and optimize CNC machining programs used to manufacture precision components. This individual will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, accurate programming, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required
  • Associate’s Degree preferred (Engineering or Manufacturing Technology)
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC Programming experience
  • Strong experience programming CNC milling machines
  • Proficiency with CAD software and CNC programming
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
  • CATIA experience
  • Epicor ERP experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience with complex precision-machined components
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
