Job summary

Talent HRizon is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist for a precision manufacturing client in Peachtree City, GA. You will operate advanced 5-axis centers to produce ultra-precision components to about 10 microns.

Candidates should have strong setup skills, GD&T understanding, and the ability to read CAD drawings and CAM programs. This role offers exposure to complex tooling, workholding, and continuous improvement in a metalworking environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of CNC machining experience.
• Hands-on with 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Hermle centers experience preferred.
• Able to maintain tolerances around 10 microns.
• Strong multi-axis machining knowledge of tooling and workholding.
• Able to read GD&T drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Hermle C-Series 5-axis centers or similar equipment.
• Perform 3+2 and true 5-axis machining operations.
• Install and verify cutting tools, workholding, probes, offsets, and CNC programs.
• Confirm machine calibration, alignment and setup accuracy before production.
• Interpret 3D CAD models, drawings, GD&T and machining specs.
• Machine hardened steels, stainless steels, aluminum and other materials.
• Monitor speeds, feeds, offsets, and toolpaths; adjust as needed.
• Make minor G-code edits at the machine control.
• Inspect components with precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Collaborate with CAM programmers and engineers to improve strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.

Talent HRizon is recruiting an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist for a precision manufacturing client in Peachtree City, Georgia.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who enjoys complex setups, advanced multi-axis machining, and producing components that require exceptional accuracy. You will operate advanced 5-axis machining centers to manufacture ultra-precision components, mold inserts, tooling, and other complex parts to tolerances of approximately 10 microns.

What You Will Do

• Set up and operate Hermle C-Series 5-axis machining centers or comparable equipment.
• Perform complex 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis machining operations.
• Install and verify cutting tools, workholding, probes, offsets, and CNC programs.
• Confirm machine calibration, alignment, and setup accuracy before production.
• Interpret 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, GD&T, and detailed machining specifications.
• Machine hardened steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and other precision materials.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and toolpaths as needed.
• Perform minor G-code, macro, and program edits at the machine control.
• Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and dimensional issues.
• Collaborate with CAM programmers, engineers, and quality personnel to improve machining strategies and part quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.

What You Bring

• At least three years of CNC machining experience.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Experience with Hermle machining centers is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain tolerances around 10 microns.
• Strong understanding of multi-axis machining strategies, tooling, and workholding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience machining complex geometries and high-precision surfaces.
• Ability to identify and resolve machining or dimensional issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Preferred Experience

• Moldmaking, medical tooling, precision tooling, or ultra-precision manufacturing.
• CAM software such as HyperMill, NX, or Mastercam.
• Blum, Renishaw, or Heidenhain probing systems.
• System 3R or Erowa workholding systems.
• Machining hardened tool steels and complex mold components.
