Job summary

Lewis & Clark College is seeking an IT Help Desk Assistant to serve as the front-line support for student laptops and college printers. You will respond in person, by email, live chat, or phone to help with connectivity, printing, and classroom technology issues.

This role involves assisting with wireless setup, printer installation, AV equipment as needed, and providing courteous customer service in a busy academic environment. Work-study preferred and training provided.

Qualifications

  • Preferred to be computer proficient in Apple OSX, Windows or both.
  • Must know how to install a printer and how to access a wireless network.
  • Prefer applicants have some AV/Media equipment experience like projectors.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and accountable due to the fact that this is a busy customer service position.

Responsibilities

  • IT Help Desk Assistants will be the front-line support for all student personal laptop and school-owned printers.
  • In addition, they may handle on-call emergency classroom technical/media support when needed.
  • Laptop duties include helping students connect their laptops to our wireless network, installing student printers on each laptop, installing PioNet network access software.
  • Additional lab duties include answering questions on word processing, spreadsheets; maintaining the two student printers including supplying them with paper/toner and offering assistance with email, live-chat & over the phone.
  • IT Help Desk Assistants will also respond to classroom technology issues, which may include troubleshooting computer and AV-Media equipment problems.

JOB PURPOSE:

IT Help Desk Assistants will be the front-line support for all student personal laptop and Law School student printer issues and emergency classroom technical/media support, respond to requests for assistance in person, email, live chat and by phone.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Help Desk Assistants will be the front-line support for all student personal laptop and school-owned printers. SCHEDULE:

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am to 8pm.

Preference for the following: Mondays 11am - 1:30pm Fridays 11am - 2pm

WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT:

RATE OF PAY:

$17.00 per hour
