Lewis & Clark College is seeking a Computer Help Desk Assistant to provide front-line support for student laptops and school-owned printers, and to assist with emergency classroom technical/media support as needed.

The role includes helping students connect laptops to the campus wireless network, installing printers, and supporting email, live-chat and phone requests, as well as basic word processing and spreadsheets. AV equipment familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Apple OSX and/or Windows proficiency.
  • Ability to install printers and access wireless networks.
  • Experience with AV/Media equipment like projectors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • IT Help Desk Assistants will be the front-line support for all student personal laptop and school-owned printers.
  • In addition, they may handle on-call emergency classroom technical/media support when needed.
  • Laptop duties include helping students connect their laptops to our wireless network, installing student printers on each laptop, installing PioNet network access software.
  • Additional lab duties include answering questions on word processing, spreadsheets; maintaining the two student printers including supplying them with paper/toner and offering assistance with email, live-chat & over the phone.
  • IT Help Desk Assistants will also respond to classroom technology issues, which may include troubleshooting computer and AV-Media equipment problems.

Must know how to install a printer and how to access a wireless network.
