Job summary

Xogito Group is seeking a Computer Assembly & IT Support Technician (REF 57 – 05) in Long Island, NY. The role is full-time, hybrid, and permanent, focusing on hands-on hardware assembly, OS configuration, and IT support for production environments.

You will work with engineering teams to ensure reliable system performance, diagnose hardware and software issues, and maintain PCs, BIOS/UEFI, and peripherals in a manufacturing-oriented setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling, upgrading, and troubleshooting desktop computers and workstations.
  • Strong understanding of PC hardware, including CPUs, motherboards, RAM, storage, power supplies, GPUs, and peripherals.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux administration, including command-line usage, package management, and file permissions.
  • Familiarity with Windows CMD and PowerShell for scripts.
  • Disk management tools such as Disk Management and DiskPart.
  • Understanding storage technologies (HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, SATA, GPT, MBR).
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, and test desktop computers and workstations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Configure BIOS/UEFI settings and perform firmware updates.
  • Install software applications, device drivers, system updates, and security patches.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application, and peripheral device issues.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
  • Install, configure, and support peripherals such as printers, scanners, monitors, docking stations, and USB devices.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Internet).
  • Use Ping, Tracert, Ipconfig, Netstat, Nslookup, CMD, and PowerShell for issue resolution.
  • Perform disk management and partition operations with Disk Management and DiskPart.
  • Document installation, testing, repair, and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate hardware setups and ensure quality.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a Computer Assembly & IT Support Technician to join a company developing advanced technology products that combine hardware and software components.

In this role, you will assemble, configure, test, and maintain technical equipment used in production and operational environments. The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on work, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure reliable and efficient system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, and test desktop computers and workstations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Configure BIOS/UEFI settings and perform firmware updates.
  • Install software applications, device drivers, system updates, and security patches.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application, and peripheral device issues.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
  • Install, configure, and support peripherals such as printers, scanners, barcode scanners, monitors, docking stations, webcams, USB devices, and Bluetooth devices.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Internet access.
  • Use diagnostic and command‑line tools such as Ping, Tracert, Ipconfig, Netstat, Nslookup, CMD, and PowerShell to identify and resolve system and connectivity problems.
  • Perform disk management tasks, including creating, formatting, extending, and managing partitions and volumes using Disk Management and DiskPart.
  • Document installation, testing, repair, and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate hardware setups and ensure quality standards are met.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

  • Experience assembling, upgrading, and troubleshooting desktop computers and workstations.
  • Strong understanding of PC hardware, including CPUs, motherboards, RAM, storage devices, power supplies, graphics cards, and peripherals.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux administration, including installation, command‑line usage, package management, user management, and file permissions.
  • Familiarity with Windows Command Prompt (CMD) and PowerShell, including executing and modifying basic scripts.
  • Experience with disk management tools such as Disk Management and DiskPart.
  • Understanding of storage technologies, including HDDs, SSDs, NVMe drives, SATA, GPT, and MBR partitioning.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and basic switching concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, peripheral, and network connectivity issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or Windows domain environments.
  • Experience with imaging and deployment tools.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Experience building custom PCs or specialized workstations.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools.IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent.
  • Hybrid work model in the United States.
  • Hands‑on technical role with a strong focus on hardware assembly and IT support.
  • English‑speaking environment.
