Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Computational Imaging Engineer to join the SPECS team in Santa Monica. You will develop ISP pipelines for next-generation computational imaging platforms and collaborate with optics, sensors, and compute teams to define architecture and performance metrics.

You will also create test methodologies, perform root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for sensor performance issues while traveling up to 15% to support cross-site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in computational imaging for computer vision applications.
• Experience with computational imaging, computer vision, and machine learning for image processing.
• Experience developing and optimizing ISP and machine learning algorithms for camera products.
• Experience with non-traditional image sensors including SPADs, event sensors, neuromorphic sensors, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop image signal processing (ISP) pipelines for next generation computational imaging platforms
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across optics, sensors, computer vision, and compute teams
• Influence key architectural decisions and drive consensus on critical trade-offs
• Develop test methodologies and characterization plans for camera ISP performance
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for sensor performance issues
• Travel up to 15%
