Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts seeks an Operations and Executive Coordinator for the General Counsel and Associate Deputy Comptroller for Treasury and Fiscal Matters. You will coordinate senior-level workflow, gather critical information, and prepare materials for leadership decisions.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, independent judgment, and excellent communication with multiple teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of experience synthesizing complex information for executive decision makers and exercising independent judgment in a high discretion advisory or coordination role; or experience in a senior executive support capacity responsible for coordinating the work of others, evaluating complex information, and proactively driving the flow of critical information on behalf of leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the workflow for the General Counsel and Associate Deputy Comptroller for Treasury and Fiscal Matters across several staff and service areas.
  • Oversees and coordinates executive workflow and priorities, organizing schedules with broad discretion in determining operational needs.
  • Collects and interprets information for high level meetings, ensuring content is precise, relevant, concise, and complete.
  • Pre-presents documents for executive approval after comprehensive review for accuracy and policy adherence.
  • Independently obtains missing information to ensure materials are fully ready for evaluation and decision making.
  • Creates and refines briefing materials and talking points, conducting in-depth research from relevant staff.
  • Monitors grant related activities and documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Prepares budget materials for executive supported operational needs and projects spending requirements.

About The Division

Join Executive Administration as an Operations and Executive Coordinator for the General Counsel and Associate Deputy Comptroller for Treasury and Fiscal Matters! Work involves providing senior level coordination and oversight across multiple divisions and ensuring organizational priorities are supported through effective information management, cross functional collaboration, and independent problem solving. Reviews complex issues, identifies information gaps, and obtains necessary details from staff to prepare accurate and complete materials for leadership. Utilizes advanced analytical tools, including Artificial Intelligence, to streamline processes, surface insights, and support informed decision making.

Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of experience synthesizing complex information for executive decision makers and exercising independent judgment in a high discretion advisory or coordination role; or experience in a senior executive support capacity (such as Executive Operations Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, or Executive Support Manager) responsible for coordinating the work of others, evaluating complex information, and proactively driving the flow of critical information on behalf of leadership.
Substitutions
  • One year of experience in the areas listed above may be substituted for 30 semester hours of required education with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).
In This Role You Will

Manages the workflow for the General Counsel and Associate Deputy Comptroller for Treasury and Fiscal Matters:

  • Oversees and coordinates executive workflow and priorities across several staff and business service areas, managing incoming requests, assessing competing demands, and organizing schedules with broad discretion in determining operational needs.
  • Collects, reviews, and interprets information needed for high level meetings, obtaining materials from appropriate staff and ensuring all content is precise, relevant, concise, and complete; applies seasoned judgment to validate quality and alignment with agency standards.
  • Before presenting correspondence, memos, forms, and other documents for executive approval, conducts a comprehensive review to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to agency policy.
  • Independently obtains any missing or clarifying information from relevant staff and sources to ensure all materials are fully ready for evaluation and decision making.
  • Creates and refines briefing materials and talking points, conducting in depth research and assembling information from relevant staff; ensures materials support organizational priorities and meet strategic procedural expectations.
  • Monitors grant related activities and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements, coordinating with staff to address and resolve compliance issues.
  • Prepares budget materials for executive supported operational needs and projects spending requirements, ensuring resource planning aligns with workload priorities and agency expectations.
