Job summary

Sempra Infrastructure is seeking an EI&C Technician for Sulphur, LA, to perform a broad range of electrical and instrumentation tasks at the compressor station. The role requires handling field operations, resolving routine issues, and escalating as needed in a timely manner.

You will work independently, may cover shifts, respond to calls, and support planned maintenance windows while ensuring data accuracy and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of compressor station systems, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Starts, stops, and operates compressor units and auxiliary systems; adjusts within prescribed limits to maintain flow and pressure.
• Performs routine checks on engines, compressors, separators, coolers, and dehydration equipment; documents results.
• Replaces basic components (filters, gaskets) and replenishes fluids following standard procedures.
• Uses supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to verify operating status and enter notes as directed.
• Collects gas samples or moisture readings when required and routes them or logs per procedure.
• Responds to routine alarms by executing predefined steps and communicating conditions to senior personnel.
• Assists with planned maintenance windows (equipment preparations, isolation support, post-start checks).
• Maintains tidy tool and parts areas; updates inventory counts for consumables used during routine tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose
Executes a wide range of routine operating tasks, applying established methods to keep equipment available and data accurate. Resolves common issues by selecting from known options and preparing thorough tickets for escalation when needed.

The EI&C Technician modifies, repairs, and overhauls electronic and electrical equipment and controls. This role applies knowledge of electronic principles to determine equipment malfunctions and uses technical skills to restore equipment to proper operation. The position requires working independently with minimal supervision, working outside normal business hours, responding to call-outs, and potentially working assigned shifts.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
