Job summary

A leading energy services company in Greeley is seeking a Service Technician I to perform basic maintenance on gas compression packages. This role will require 3-5 years of experience and offers opportunities for progression to a Senior Field Service Technician. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of applicable experience required.
  • Must pass drug screen, background check, and physical testing.
  • Capability of performing monthly preventive maintenance independently.
  • Basic understanding of gas and oil properties.
  • Owns tools of the trade (exceptions for OEM equipment).
  • Performs monthly preventive maintenance and minor repairs independently.
  • Able to provide field mechanical service on gas compression equipment on site.
  • Identifies unsafe activities and stops them.
  • Learns in hands-on and classroom settings.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic maintenance functions on gas compression packages.
  • Assist in timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors and engines.
  • Submit accurate field service reports and necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental rules.
  • Respond to recurring problems and provide emergency service as needed.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and start-up inspections of new units.
  • Assist with mechanical inspection using micrometers, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental rules at each location.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Job description

This position is responsible for performing basic maintenance functions, procedures, activities, and responsibilities associated with working on gas compression packages. Duties include learning from and assisting other technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of both internal combustion and electric driven compressor packages. The purpose of the Service Technician I level is to acquire proficiency in performing all maintenance actions with direct supervision that will allow for progression to the Senior Field Service Technician level.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • All duties and responsibilities could include a large amount of (multi state) travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Always represents the company in a professional manner while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Assists in timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the field in adverse conditions.
  • Assists with response to recurring problems and emergency services as needed.
  • Assists with installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections.
  • Assists with mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools.
  • Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs.
  • Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
  • Other Duties assigned by manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some minimal vocational/technical training preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years applicable experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and post offer physical testing.
  • Possess strong mechanical and electrical abilities with knowledge and experience to perform complex multiple service and maintenance tasks.
  • Have his/her own tools of the trade. (With exceptions of specialty or OEM specific diagnostic equipment)
  • Capability of performing monthly preventive maintenance and minor repairs independently.
  • Ability to provide preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression, and/or production equipment on site at end user locations.
  • Identify and stop activities that are unsafe for personnel or the environment when they occur or about to occur.
  • Exhibit an ability to learn in both hands on and classroom setting.
  • Proficient with a personal computer and common applicable functions/programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of Gas & Oil properties, conditions, and theories.
  • Thorough understanding of tooling utilized to install, maintain, and operate Gas Compressors and Production Equipment. (Dial indicators, laser alignment tools, feeler gauges, Digital volts Ohm meter, and Hydraulic torquing equipment).

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment.
  • Ability to work in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
  • Ability to assist the field as needed.
Work Environment

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
