The compounding technician I role operates in a clean room, performing medication compounding at least 50% of the time under a licensed pharmacist, ensuring accurate, safe preparation in accordance with policies and state rules.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards for services.
• Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (e.g. opening a document, cutting, pasting, and aligning text).
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g. formatting currencies, editing cells).
• Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g. inserting slides, editing text).

Responsibilities

• Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing.
• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and in accordance with state regulations & standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct dosages of medications.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication related incidents.
• Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance
• Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspects equipment and documents any equipment failures or defects.
• Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
