Job Description Summary
Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician II works in a clean room compiling medication at least 50% of the time to help ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures and state regulations.
- Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
- Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
- Assists with ensuring quality standards are met by reviewing and inspecting compounded and packaged medications.
- Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
- Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
- Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning.
- Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
- Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I’s.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
Qualifications
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Able to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Demand Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Pay Range
Salary range is $20.47 to $34.13 per hour.
