Methodist Hospital in Texas seeks a Pharmacy Technician Compounding to join our pharmacy team. The role involves sterile preparation, labeling, and compounding of medications under pharmacist supervision, including potential chemotherapy preparations and USP 797 compliance.

The technician will participate in routine daily tasks, perform accurate calculations, and ensure proper aseptic techniques while supporting inventory and automated dispensing systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• ACPE-sponsored 40-hour course meeting Texas Board of Pharmacy requirements to compound sterile products.
• Hospitals prefer 1 year minimum sterile compounding experience.
• Current Registered Pharmacy Technician by the State Board of Pharmacy or Intern Certification with the Texas Board of Pharmacy.

Responsabilités

• Accurately fill medication orders and safely compound/label medications and parenteral admixtures.
• Obtain final pharmacist check before releasing prepared parenteral compounds.
• Support ADC routines, restocks, and maintenance of automated dispensing systems.
• Maintain accurate logs, assist in inventory management, and notify pharmacy inventory for shortages or damaged products.
