Job summary

Option Care Health in Wellsburg, WV is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to assist pharmacists with compounding medications in a clean room, prepare and dispense supplies, and ensure accurate dosages and labeling.

You will perform basic pharmaceutical calculations, maintain temperature and cleaning logs, support inventory and equipment maintenance, and provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Able to perform basic & intermediate mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies and procedures and with state regulations and standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication related incidents.
• Maintains pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods cleanliness and sanitation.
• Inspects equipment and documents equipment failures or defects.
• Records and maintains pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
