Job summary

Option Care Health is seeking a compounding technician I under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. This role performs medication compounding in a clean room at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate operations and adherence to state regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists with preparation and dispensing, accurate labeling, basic calculations, and maintaining logs for temperature and cleaning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).

Responsibilities

• Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing - Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies & procedures and state regulations.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents.
• Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance - Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspects equipment and documents any equipment failures or defects.
• Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
