Job summary

Option Care Health is seeking a Compounding Technician to support pharmacists in a clean room, with emphasis on accurate compounding and adherence to policies and state regulations. The role involves manual calculations, labeling, and quality checks to ensure safe medication preparation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience; licensure or registration as required by the state, with strong organizational and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies & procedures and state standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents.
• Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspects equipment and documents equipment failures or defects.
• Records and maintains pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
