Job summary

Barrington James is supporting a fast-growing, owner-led sterile compounding pharmacy in southeastern Louisiana looking to engage a Pharmacy Technician to join a high-volume, non-retail site.

The role focuses on sterile compounding in a Category 3 environment under pharmacist supervision, with responsibilities across compounding support and dispensing as the site scales. Prior compounding experience and Louisiana tech registration are required or obtainable before start.

Qualifications

• Louisiana pharmacy technician registration, or the ability to obtain it before starting.
• Prior compounding experience in a pharmacy setting.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support sterile compounding in a USP <797> Category 3 environment under pharmacist supervision
• Prepare, label and dispense prescriptions accurately and at volume
• Maintain cleanroom, gowning and documentation standards
• Manage inventory and materials for the compounding and dispensing teams
• Follow SOPs and batch records exactly and flag anything that does not match
• Work with pharmacists and fellow technicians to hit daily output and quality targets

Job description

We are currently supporting a fast growing, owner led 503A sterile compounding pharmacy in southeastern Louisiana that is looking to engage a Pharmacy Technician.

This pharmacy compounds sterile injectables in a Category 3 environment and dispenses them direct to patients for a telehealth partner, and it is scaling its output inside the current site. You will work across compounding support and dispensing in a small, quality focused team that is adding people and shifts as volume grows. This is not a retail counter job. This is a hands on technician role inside a sterile compounding pharmacy, for someone who already knows compounding and wants to grow with a pharmacy that is expanding.

• Support sterile compounding in a USP <797> Category 3 environment under pharmacist supervision

Required Experience

• Louisiana pharmacy technician registration, or the ability to obtain it before starting
• Prior compounding experience in a pharmacy setting
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume environment
• Reliable, respectful and able to take direction from pharmacists
• Sterile compounding or cleanroom experience preferred
• PTCB certification preferred
