Job summary

Barrington James is supporting a family-owned, third-generation 503A compounding pharmacy in upstate New York to recruit Compounding Technicians.

You will compound under pharmacist supervision in a non-sterile lab, learn USP <800> standards, and cross-train to the dispensing counter serving walk-in patients. This is a hands-on, long-term position with strong team support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to register as a NYS pharmacy technician before compounding.
• Willing to perform all lab tasks, including cleaning.
• Strong work ethic, respectful and personable.
• Compounding experience welcome but not required; full training provided.
• National pharmacy technician certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare non sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Work in the hazardous compounding lab to USP 800 standards.
• Follow formulation records, procedures and documentation requirements.
• Clean and maintain the lab and equipment, including everyday tasks.
• Cross train to the dispensing counter and serve walk in patients.
• Support the pharmacists and the wider team wherever needed.

Job description

We are currently supporting a family owned, third generation 503A compounding pharmacy operating a non-sterile compounding lab in upstate New York area that is looking to engage a Compounding Technician.

This is the established compounding pharmacy in its area, grown entirely by reputation, with a team where most people have been there for more than a decade. Demand has outgrown the lab, so the pharmacy is adding compounding technicians who will be trained from scratch by the pharmacists. You will compound under direct pharmacist supervision, work in the hazardous compounding lab, keep the lab clean and cross train to the dispensing counter in an open door pharmacy that patients walk into every day. This is not a big box pharmacy job with metrics. This is a hands on lab role inside a work family, for someone who wants a long term career in compounding.
