Job summary

The Fountain Group in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Compound Management Associate for a 12-month assignment. Pay is $30–$37 per hour.

Responsibilities include registering compounds, maintaining metadata, auditing inventory, and coordinating shipments both domestically and internationally. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Chemistry (MS preferred), strong Excel and database skills, and some Python scripting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science; MS preferred.
• Working knowledge of chemical structures, nomenclature, handling, storage, and safety.
• Proficiency with Excel and database/inventory-tracking apps; some Python scripting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register newly synthesized and external compounds in electronic database.
• Maintain complete compound metadata: structure, molecular weight, purity, salt form, inventory location, history.
• Audit inventory and reconcile physical vs electronic records; investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure compound inventory is available to project teams.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments and transfers per regulations and policies.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for compound management workflows.
• Investigate deviations in inventory, labeling, shipping, or records; drive corrective actions.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives for efficiency, data integrity, and user experience.
• Serve as point of contact for CROs and vendors in synthesis, purification, testing, storage, logistics.
