Job summary

Rock West Composites, Inc. invites a Composite Technician Lead to manage day-to-day production activities across shifts at our San Diego Otay Mesa Aircraft Facility. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and operates on 2nd shift (3pm-12:30am).

You will lead manufacturing efforts, ensure quality, safety and delivery, and coordinate with engineering, planning, quality and sales to meet objectives. Requirements include a High School diploma/GED, 3-5 years in technical manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 3-5 years in a technical manufacturing field (welding, fabrication, composites).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; able to work across the business.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• US citizen, US national, or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train and manage an operation staff.
• Oversee production floor activities and schedules across programs and projects.
• Communicate job expectations and planning to meet production objectives.
• Monitor labor hours and overtime; ensure tools and materials are available.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications; work with QA on nonconformances.
• Meet continuous improvement objectives and production schedules.
• Maintain teamwork across departments and promote safety as a priority.
• Analyze and implement process flow improvements and staffing.
