Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer for our AMF North facility in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on inert composite part fabrication with Lean process improvement and cross-functional collaboration across design, shop floor, and management teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree with several years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance. Travel and occasional irregular hours may be required as part of program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of manufacturing experience; graduate degree with 6+ years, or 8+ years without a degree.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvement.
• Ability to provide technical guidance across shop floor and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Support and lead facility transition efforts for inert product lines.
• Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for fabrication of advanced composite parts.
• Create detailed work instructions, PFMEAs, and JSAs that meet requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to shop floor, design and management teams.
• Travel: 5% may be required; occasional off-shift and weekend work.
