Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a filament winding technician to help design, build, and sustain composite components for defense programs. The team develops COPVs and related hardware, requiring precision, adherence to drawings, and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities include operating winding equipment, resin mixing, curing, and machine programming; inspecting parts; and maintaining tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience with filament winding equipment.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Able to follow detailed work instructions.
• Knowledge of composites and resins.

Responsibilities

• Operate filament winding machines per drawings and specs.
• Setup, resin mix, winding, and cure processes.
• Program and troubleshoot winding machinery.
• Provide input on winding patterns.
• Inspect and rework products as needed.
• Clean winding tools and equipment daily.
• Work with engineers on COPV development.
• Follow safety and quality procedures.
