Job summary

Rocket Lab in Middle River, MD is seeking a Composite Development Technician at all levels to contribute to the development and assembly of the Neutron launch vehicle structures. You will work from our Middle River facility on complex laminates, bonded joints, and precision repairs, mutli-material stacks, and high-precision hardware integration.

The role covers several levels (I–Senior) with scalable qualifications and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in composite component R&D, military equipment composite repair and maintenance (military or civilian).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience using various hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced manufacturing processes for complex laminates, bonded joints, and large structural assemblies.
• Develop techniques and methods to streamline the assembly of structures including setup, bonding and fastener applications.
• Composite layup of highly complex laminates with accurate ply placement and inserts.
• Apply advanced measurement techniques to ensure proper reference points and adherence to drawing datum structures.
• Integrate mechanical hardware with a high degree of precision, including rework and drilling through multi-material stacks.
• Perform other standard composite and integration building techniques as required.
• You may be requested to work on other Rocket Lab products or travel as required.
