Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a Components Lab Technician in Dunwoody, GA to handle and process blood components in a highly regulated environment, ensuring safety for transfusion.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to work evenings, rotating weekends and holidays with good manual dexterity and written/spoken communication skills. We offer competitive pay and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic math including proportions and percentages.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blood and blood products.
• Perform the lab audit process including quarantine, release and disposal based on testing results.
• Filter blood to provide leuko-reduced products.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of instruments and department.
• Data processing and input.
• Label all available apheresis products and quarantine/discard products as necessary.
