Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Component Engineer to work in a lab and manufacturing setting, developing and evaluating EEE components for space hardware. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to advance components through qualification and failure analysis.

The role emphasizes EEE parts standards, testing, and supplier coordination, with a focus on maintaining security clearances and delivering reliable space systems.

Qualifications

As a Component Engineer you'll work on a broad range of projects, in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing, you'll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and technology to survive in the most hostile of environments.

In This Role You Will
  • Participate in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware manufacturing and testing. Assignments will include technical evaluation and support of manufacturing issues/concerns.
  • Have a hand in the development of the program EEE Parts management plan, the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of EEE Parts.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
  • Coordinate with other teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Conducts or participates in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components. Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepares EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluates vendors and analyzes EEEE Component test reports. The Component Engineer is responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components, generating/reviewing/approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings, reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs, participating/leading PMP issue resolutions and assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Basic Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of EEE Parts Standards and Requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of EEE Parts evaulation, qualification and screening.
  • Willingness/Elibigility to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship Required.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
