Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks a Compliance Specialist I to oversee HUD compliance, monitor programs, and coordinate reporting for CDBG, ESG, and HOME portfolios. The role emphasizes adherence to federal, state, and local requirements and accurate records for HUD notices and CAPER.

You will conduct QA inspections and train staff on compliance matters. Collaborating across departments, you will help improve procurement and contract monitoring processes, manage regulatory changes, and support policy

Qualifications

Knowledge of legal compliance concepts and related processes.
Ability to interpret laws and tie them to procurement and reporting.
Experience training staff on compliance topics and best practices.
Ability to build relationships across departments and partners.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports to senior management.
Provide specialized training in procurement compliance and ethics, audits, and records management.
Research and interpret local, state, and federal law affecting procurement operations.
Monitor compliance with contractual agreements and legislative proposals.
Coordinate with City departments to provide information and resources.
Assist in maintaining compliance management systems and conducting internal audits.
