Job summary

Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in Delaware seeks a Compliance Nurse to ensure regulatory compliance of acute and outpatient health facilities. You will conduct surveys for state licensure and Medicare/Medicaid certification, assess care quality, and prepare deficiency reports while coordinating corrective actions.

The role involves reviewing regulatory standards, reporting findings, and may require court or board appearances.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelors’ degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Masters’ degree or higher in Nursing.
• Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi‑state compact license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts survey of facilities for certification and licensure by the State and Medicare/Medicaid.
• Consults with agencies to meet requirements and improve care delivery.
• Investigates complaints against agencies/facilities relating to health care regulations and patient care.
• Conducts in-service trainings for health care providers and groups.
• Prepares and maintains records and may appear in court or before boards.
