Job summary

Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in Delaware seeks a Compliance Nurse to ensure regulatory compliance of acute and outpatient health care facilities. The role conducts state surveys, assesses quality of care, and develops deficiency reports and corrective action plans.

This casual/seasonal position requires nursing licensure in Delaware or a multi-state compact, with at least two years of RN experience or appropriate nursing degrees and experience.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Possession of Delaware RN license or multi-state compact license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts survey of facilities for certification and/or licensure.
• Consults with agencies to help meet requirements and improve health care delivery.
• Investigates complaints against health care facilities and providers.
• Conducts in-service training for health care facilities and the community.
• Prepares and maintains records and may appear in court or before boards.
