Job summary

UMMC seeks a Compliance Educator to develop and manage education efforts for the Office of Integrity and Compliance. You will train billing providers on ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and related guidelines, serving as a subject matter expert on CMS and state regulations.

You will coordinate education initiatives, prepare materials, and support new employee training while partnering with leadership to expand educational programs and ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree required.
• Three years of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, research, and/or billing experience preferred.
• AHIMA/AAPC/HCCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops educational materials for departmental and institutional needs.
• Coordinates, implements, and oversees compliance training.
• Conducts training sessions on coding, billing, and documentation guidelines.
• Educates workforce on deficiencies identified in audits and monitoring activities.
• Onboards new employees to compliance programs and learning initiatives.
• Collaborates with management to identify additional educational opportunities.
• Assists with other educational endeavors as needed.
