Job summary

Fello in Severn, MD seeks a Compliance Facilitator to oversee regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and investigations across our organization. The role supports safeguarding rights and safety while ensuring alignment with licensing standards.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in human services compliance and a direct support background, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This full-time position may require occasional telework and is essential for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience supporting or managing compliance, quality, or performance improvement activities in a human services organization.
• Five years' experience as a direct support professional.
• Experience conducting incident or other compliance investigations.

Responsibilities

• The Compliance Facilitator supports Fello's compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements, ensuring efforts across the organization protect the rights, safety, and self-determination of people served.
• Managing the incident reporting system and hotline.
• Conducting and submitting required incident investigations and reports.
• Serving as liaison to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) for visits, requests, and plans of correction.
• Maintaining compliance monitoring and tracking processes and partnering with Programs and People & Culture to keep policies aligned with current regulations.
• This position must meet all requirements of a Direct Support Professional and is designated essential, requiring work during times of emergency.

• Demonstrates strong critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, with sound judgment in sensitive situations and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams while remaining flexible under pressure.
• A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field and experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
• This position is full-time, based in Severn with regular time in the field at group homes across the Greater Chesapeake region.
• The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during Fello's office hours, with frequent night and occasional weekend needs to cover the incident hotline.
• This position is eligible for periodic telework.
