Job summary

Fello in Linthicum Heights, MD is hiring an Employment Advisor to deliver job coaching, retention services, and employment supports based on a Person-Centered Plan. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to help people with disabilities retain employment and grow work skills.

You will conduct job development and job search activities tailored to each person’s interests and strengths, provide follow-along supports, and offer both virtual and in-person coaching.

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with people with disabilities.
• A bachelor’s degree and experience in workforce development programs are a plus.
• A valid Maryland driver’s license with no significant traffic violations is required.
• Candidates must complete Fello and DDA trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide job coaching, retention services, and other employment services based on a PCP.
• Deliver wraparound supports with an Interdisciplinary team to help people retain employment and improve work skills.
• Conduct job development and job search activities tailored to each person’s interests and strengths.
• Provide individualized follow-along supports and virtual or in-person coaching; transport may be provided.

Salary Range: $23.50 Hourly

The Employment Advisor provides job coaching, retention services, and other employment services based on a Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Working with an interdisciplinary team, they deliver wraparound supports to help people with disabilities retain employment and improve work skills. The Employment Advisor conducts job development and job search activities tailored to each person's unique interests and strengths, provides individualized follow-along supports, facilitates both virtual and in-person job coaching, and ensures goals are developed and benchmarks are met. They may also provide transportation to and from work and must meet the qualifications of a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative, and innovative team player with a demonstrated ability to provide respectful support that meets the diverse needs of persons served. They possess strong written and verbal communication skills with persons served, their families, coworkers, employers, and other stakeholders. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use MS Word, Outlook, and other technology tools to support people with disabilities are required.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with people with disabilities. Candidates must also be able to complete all required Fello and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) trainings.
