Job summary

Base, America’s next-generation power company, is seeking a Compliance Director to lead regulatory and policy programs across markets. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and build scalable processes to keep us in good standing with regulators like PUCT, ICC, FERC, and ISOs/RTOs.

This role requires at least 5 years in regulated energy compliance, program leadership, and the ability to translate complex codes into practical requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of compliance experience in heavily regulated utilities or energy sectors.
• Experience building or running a formal compliance program.
• Familiarity with retail electric provider rules and tariffs.
• Knowledge of the Texas Administrative Code or similar state frameworks.
• Strong written communication and decision-making.
• Project management mindset in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and own Base's compliance program across risk assessment, policies, training, and testing.
• Prepare filings and develop repeatable playbooks for new markets.
• Serve as the accountable compliance contact for regulators (PUCT, ICC, FERC, ISOs/RTOs).
• Maintain audit-ready records and calendars.
• Monitor rulemakings and brief Leadership on operational impacts.
• Integrate compliance into daily operations with vendors and installers.
• Report program health and identify exposure to Leadership.
• Oversee energy trading compliance, including rules, training, and reporting.
