  • Strong academic performance or demonstrated experience with data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
  • Interest in learning how compliance, risk management, and data practices support oversight and business decisions.

Responsibilities

Please see below the details of this career opportunity and how it fits into our organization’s success.Summary of the Job:The Compliance Data Enablement Intern will support the Compliance Monitoring & Testing and Data Enablement team by assisting with data analysis, reporting, documentation, and process improvement activities. This role is designed for a student or early-career candidate who is curious, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how data, technology, and process discipline support effective compliance oversight. The Intern will work under the guidance of Data Enablement team members to complete clearly defined assignments, ask thoughtful questions, communicate progress, and contribute to practical tools and work products that help the Compliance department use data more consistently and effectively.About This Role:Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to learn how data and technology can strengthen compliance processes. This person enjoys solving problems, working with data, asking thoughtful questions, and turning detailed information into clear, practical insights. They are dependable, coachable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned tasks while collaborating with team members and business partners.Naturally curious and willing to dig into data, processes, and questions to understand how things work.Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions, check work carefully, and recognize when something does not look right.Comfortable learning new tools and applying analytical thinking to real business problems.Able to communicate clearly, provide timely updates, ask for help when needed, and incorporate feedback into work products.Interested in building foundational experience in compliance, risk management, data enablement, reporting, automation, or financial services.Responsibilities:Assist with gathering, organizing, validating, and analyzing compliance-related data under the guidance of Data Enablement team members.Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards, trackers, reports, and summaries that help convert data into clear and actionable information for Compliance stakeholders.Perform assigned analysis to identify trends, exceptions, data quality issues, or process improvement opportunities, and summarize observations in a clear and practical manner.Document data sources, definitions, assumptions, process steps, and reporting logic to support consistency, transparency, and repeatability across Compliance data activities.Help test and review reports, trackers, and automation outputs to confirm information is complete, accurate, and aligned with the assigned objective.Learn and apply analytical, reporting, and automation tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, Power Automate, or other approved tools used by the Compliance department.Assist with maintaining data inventories, reference materials, templates, job aids, and other resources that support data literacy and consistent data practices.Participate in team meetings and project discussions, prepare questions in advance when appropriate, and provide timely updates on assigned work.Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks by meeting deadlines, escalating questions or roadblocks, and incorporating feedback into work products.Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail when working with compliance, business, or customer-related information.The Ideal Candidate for This Role:Qualifications:Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in data analytics, business analytics, information systems, computer science, finance, accounting, economics, compliance, risk management, or a related field.Strong academic performance or demonstrated experience through coursework, projects, internships, student organizations, or work experience involving data analysis, reporting, research, business process improvement, or technology-enabled problem solving.Interest in learning how compliance, risk management, financial services, and data practices work together to support effective oversight and business decision-making.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work accurately with data, follow instructions, and identify patterns, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required, including comfort with formulas, sorting, filtering, organizing data, and reviewing information for accuracy; exposure to pivot tables, lookup formulas, Power Query, or structured data cleanup preferred.Exposure to data visualization, reporting, or dashboarding tools such as Power BI or similar platforms preferred.Exposure to basic data querying, scripting, or automation concepts through SQL, Python, Power Automate, macros, low-code/no-code tools, or similar technologies preferred.Interest in using approved generative AI, agentic AI, and automation tools responsibly to improve workflows, summarize information, document processes, support analysis, and reduce manual effort.Ability or willingness to develop clear prompts, evaluate AI-generated outputs critically, identify incomplete or inaccurate results, protect confidential information, and validate outputs before use.Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings, document work performed, and explain questions or observations clearly.Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, accountability, coachability, and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and compliance concepts.Ability to collaborate professionally with team members and business partners while maintaining a positive attitude and respect for different working styles and perspectives.Ability to understand and comply with bank policies, applicable laws and regulations, and expectations for professional conduct and confidentiality.Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.Work Environment:It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
